Objectives of the Course
To teach basic theoretical knowledge and terminology in writing and typography.

The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Student has basic theoretical knowledge about writing and typography PO-3 Students will be able to use terminology, problem solving skills, technical and method knowledge to evaluate art and design on a common basis.

Course Contents
Definition of typography and its importance in terms of graphic design: historical development of typography, emergence of writing and first alphabets, development of Latin alphabet up to the discovery of oppression, development of print and print articles, IX. century and XX. century typography; Basic terms related to typography: terms related to the anatomy of the letter, typeface, family of characters, weight and styles of font, font, dimensioning of the writing, the rules that must be followed, the rules to be followed, the types of spaces: letters, words, lines, negative and mid-eye; espasta special cases are taught. Applications are made with vector program support.
