Objectives of the Course | |||||
1. To review the evolution of contemporary design. 2. To introduce the pioneering trends and contemporary trends of industrial design. 3. Communication of industrial products to the architecture and the movements specific to plastic arts To investigate. 4. Describe the relationship between design and historical, socio-cultural and political events. |

Course Contents | ||
Various aspects of the historical development of design. Overview of various socio-cultural structure features to design activities throughout the ages. Prehistoric times starting from the point of view of the development of the concept of necessity-vehicle production in terms of civilizations and technologies. The period of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Industrial Revolution characteristics and understanding of production. Developments after the industrial revolution. Rationalization, effects and diffusion. Important design concepts of 20th century and its effects on contemporary art and design. | ||
