Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to give basic information about the philosophical foundations of security and to gain awareness by explaining the relationship between security and state and law enforcement.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can comprehend the origin theories of the state and the factors that give rise to the state. PO-3 He/She provides security and protection services for persons, institutions and organizations on the basis of authority, duties and responsibilities on legal and institutional basis.
PO-8 He/She believes in the importance of personal development for his continuous success in his professional life and is willing to participate in activities that will develop him / herself in this direction.
PO-10 He/She comprehends its place and role in internal security services, and desires to fulfill its duties in a way to contribute to these services.

Course Contents
State origin theories, pre-state societies, factors that give birth to the state, Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Maslow's hierarchy of needs in the context of individuals ' perception of security and life satisfaction relationship, State and law enforcement, the historical development of law enforcement in our country, modern State, modern state and Security privatization, Democratic control of private security services.
