Objectives of the Course
The main purpose is to introduce students to the basic topics of sociolinguistics and to show their applications in language and education.

Course Contents
In this course, information is given about the areas and forms of sociolinguistics; The students are taught that there are different uses of language in society and how these differ according to the region, social classes and ethnic origins; At the end of the course, students will be able to grasp how language use changes in a society and how sociolinguistics relate to language teaching.
