Objectives of the Course
Gains knowledge of the basic sources, concepts and methods of fatwa act.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Understands that fatwa / ifta work is performed within the framework of certain rules and methods. PO-1 Can be able to improve and deepen their knowledge in the same or different field based on the graduate level qualifications in their field of study.
PO-2 Can be able to the interdisciplinary interaction of their field of study and conduct joint studies with different fields of study.
PO-9 Can be able to act as a leading role in solving problems related to their field of study, organizing personal, institutional teamworks at an expert level.
PO-10 Can be able to examine the social relations and the norms guiding these relations from a critical point of view and act on the spot to change them when needed.
Examination
LO-2 learns that expressing opinions on religious matters is not open to everyone, and that this requires a heavy responsibility and a high level of scientific equipment. PO-3 Can be able to make an efficient use of the resources in a relevant field of study based on their graduate level of qualifications.
PO-4 Can be able to use the relevant research methods and techniques and have both theoretical and practical knowledge in their field of study.

Examination

Course Contents
The conceptual framework of the fatwa / ifta act is determined. Information is given about the importance and sources of the subject. Issues such as whether it is necessary to be attached to a certain sect, preference within the sect, and determination of the opinion that will be the basis of fatwa are discussed. Fatwa-taqwa relationship, the effect of time and place, customs and needs on fatwa are discussed. The principles to be taken into consideration by the mufti while issuing fatwa are explained.
