Objectives of the Course
Giving knowledge about emergence of cities, urbanization, migration and social change

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can make definition of the city, nature, affect relations between individuals, education, health, economy, trade, religion and politics, institutions, sociological aspects of issues such as the location analysis. PO-1 1. Can understand the basic concepts regarding the sociology programs.
PO-2 2.Can transfer and adapt what they have acquired in the field of Sociology to other disciplines.
Examination
LO-2 Can express the basic concept of related to city. PO-1 1. Can understand the basic concepts regarding the sociology programs.
PO-6 6. Can assess and evaluate the data making use of the advanced knowledge and skills that they have acquired in the field, to define and analyze the issues connected with current technological developments finding ways to offer solutions to those issues based on the researched and evidence.
Examination
LO-3 Can define the historical development of urbanization in Turkey. PO-8 8. Can collaborate both intra- and interdisciplinarily by planning and managing the activities regarding the development of the members subordinate to them.
PO-10 10. Can have the professional and ethical responsibility in the process of the collection, evaluation and implementation of the data in the field of study and publishing the results.
Examination
LO-4 Can compare concept of urbanization and environment relationships. PO-2 2.Can transfer and adapt what they have acquired in the field of Sociology to other disciplines.

Course Contents
Urban sociology course includes the basic concepts of the city and the history of the city. In this course, the relationship between urbanization and modernity is explained. In this course, the relationship between urbanization and social change is discussed. this course also includes urban theories. Topics of this course is migration movements in Turkey and Turkey's urbanization experience.
