Objectives of the Course
This course aims to provide students with the ability to gain in-depth knowledge and research on the history of translation and translators.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can comprehend and explain how translation activities that have taken place from antiquity to the present day, especially in the West and Turkey, have affected the histories of cultures. PO-1 Improve and deepen their knowledge in the same or different field based on the graduate level qualifications in their field of study.
PO-4 Use the relevant research methods and techniques and have both theoretical and practical knowledge in their field of study.
PO-5 Interpret, solve and produce new data by integrating the data obtained from both their field of study and different fields of study.
LO-2 Can explain the social functions of translation institutions established throughout history and translators working in institutions. PO-1 Improve and deepen their knowledge in the same or different field based on the graduate level qualifications in their field of study.
PO-4 Use the relevant research methods and techniques and have both theoretical and practical knowledge in their field of study.
PO-5 Interpret, solve and produce new data by integrating the data obtained from both their field of study and different fields of study.

This course deals with the social and cultural dimensions of translation activity from antiquity to the present day.
