Objectives of the Course | |||||
The purpose of this course is to provide a working understanding of child and adolescent abnormal behavior as both a scientific and a clinical perspective from the viewpoint of different theories. Different theories would be introduced to provide a broad framework to explain abnormal human behavior. |

Pathological symptoms in child and adolescent behavior, psychiatric assessment of child and adolescent, Mental health classification and clinical characteristics of child and adolescent mental health disorders, Developmental disorders (mental retardation, common developmental disorders, specific developmental behavior), Aggressive behaviors (attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder)Anxiety disorders (phobic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder), Affective and psychotic disorders (suicide, depression, manic disorder, schizophrenia), Substance abuse, Personality disorders, Eating Disorders, Speech disorders, tic disorder, enuresis, encopresis, Child abuse, Child crimes, Family interactions and mistaken parent attitudes, Therapy approaches in child and adolescent (pharmacological therapy, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, family therapy, psychodrama) | ||
