Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to examine the formation, development and maintenance of close relationships such as marriage, dating and friendship. In addition, it is to inform about the factors that cause the end of the relationship such as conflict, relationship problems (jealousy, cheating, etc.), abuse in relationships and divorce, and their emotional consequences.

LO-1 Provides extensive knowledge of the general field of interpersonal relations. PO-1 Knows the basic concepts related to psychology.
Examination
LO-2 Examines the theories of interpersonal relations comparatively. PO-1 Knows the basic concepts related to psychology.
PO-2 Adapts and transfers the knowledge they have acquired in the field of psychology to other disciplines
Examination
LO-3 Explain the historical development of studies on close relationships. PO-1 Knows the basic concepts related to psychology.
PO-14 Has a basic level of knowledge of the fields of social sciences such as philosophy, sociology, anthropology and the fields of science such as biology and neuroscience, and uses this knowledge to develop psychology skills and to follow contemporary scientific publications.
Examination
LO-4 Examines research on close relationships on the basis of scientific explanations. PO-4 Is equipped with sufficient skills in the field of psychology, adhere to the principles of professional ethics, develop communication skills, gain productive and flexible thinking skills.
PO-6 Interprets and evaluates data using advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field, identifies and analyzes problems parallel to current technological developments, and develops solutions based on research and evidence.
PO-10 Follows national and international contemporary problems.

Course Contents
In this course content, the importance of close relationships, its relationship with psychological health, the development and continuity of the relationship, cognitive and affective processes in relationships will be discussed.
