Objectives of the Course | |||||
The aim of this course is to understand the structure and classification of microorganisms, to understand the characteristics of eukaryotic and prokaryotic microorganisms, and to gain knowledge to comprehend the responses of the immune system. |

PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life. PO-2 She/he applies the basic medical and science knowledge she has learned in both clinical and laboratory studies and has problem solving skills. PO-3 She/he can work in interdisciplinary teams in various branches of dentistry and other medical fields and seeks the opinion or treatment of the necessary specialist for medical and dental treatments beyond her ability. |

Morphology and classification of microorganisms, eukaryotic-prokaryotic cell structure differences, general characteristics of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. Introduction to immunology, natural immunity, adaptive immunity, antigen-antibody. | ||
