Objectives of the Course
The aim of the Histology and Embryology course is to distinguish differences between body cells, tissues; To comprehend the development, structure, and functions of the oral and facial areas, morphological and physiological features of the oral and facial tissues.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Explain the development, structure and functions of body cells, tissues and organs. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-2 She/he applies the basic medical and science knowledge she has learned in both clinical and laboratory studies and has problem solving skills.

PO-2 She/he applies the basic medical and science knowledge she has learned in both clinical and laboratory studies and has problem solving skills.

Course Contents
Cell, cell division, epithelial tissue, connective and supportive tissue, cartilage tissue; bone tissue; bone formation; muscle tissue histology; nerve tissue histology; blood tissue and hematopoiesis; general embryology (fertilization, implantation, gastrulation, embryonic period, fetal membranes-placenta, birth, congenital anomalies), pharyngeal arches, head and neck embryology and odontogenesis.
