Objectives of the Course
To teach the diagnosis and treatment planning following the evaluation of medical and dental condition of patient applied for endodontic treatment, vital pulp theraphies and root canal treatment procedures of incisors and premolar teeth

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can question the general health status of the patient. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-2 She/he applies the basic medical and science knowledge she has learned in both clinical and laboratory studies and has problem solving skills.
PO-3 She/he can work in interdisciplinary teams in various branches of dentistry and other medical fields and seeks the opinion or treatment of the necessary specialist for medical and dental treatments beyond her ability.
PO-4 Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, and develops evidence-based solution proposals by using knowledge and skills related to contemporary dentistry.
PO-5 As a 'Dentist' who has the ability to work individually, he/she makes decisions regarding treatment by using the relevant diagnostic methods, can take initiative, and expresses his/her professional ideas verbally or in writing, clearly and concisely.
PO-6 She/he uses all kinds of tools to ensure the oral and dental health required by the dentistry profession and has sufficient knowledge about the materials used in dentistry clinics.
PO-7 He/she develops and implements effective strategies to prevent dental and medical emergencies that he/she may encounter in his/her office and is sufficient to determine the attitude to be applied for treatment in case of these emergencies.
Examination
LO-2 can evaluate the dental condition of the patient clinically and radiologically. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.

PO-13 It performs preventive dentistry practices in the clinic, as well as participates in community-oriented oral and dental health programs and projects to be planned at local or national level, and when necessary, it acquires adequate equipment and supervises or manages it.
Examination
LO-3 can make the correct diagnosis and treatment planning of the patient's tooth requiring endodontic treatment. PO-1 As a dentist, she/he has the basic knowledge of clinical and social sciences required by her profession and uses them throughout her/his life.
PO-2 She/he applies the basic medical and science knowledge she has learned in both clinical and laboratory studies and has problem solving skills.
PO-4 Interprets and evaluates data, defines and analyzes problems, and develops evidence-based solution proposals by using knowledge and skills related to contemporary dentistry.
PO-5 As a 'Dentist' who has the ability to work individually, he/she makes decisions regarding treatment by using the relevant diagnostic methods, can take initiative, and expresses his/her professional ideas verbally or in writing, clearly and concisely.
PO-7 He/she develops and implements effective strategies to prevent dental and medical emergencies that he/she may encounter in his/her office and is sufficient to determine the attitude to be applied for treatment in case of these emergencies.
PO-10 It makes a differential diagnosis, preliminary diagnosis or definitive diagnosis by correlating clinical and radiological examination and other diagnostic tests, and findings in the patient's history, taking into account the social and ethnic history of the patients.
PO-14 With the awareness of being a physician, it carries out initiatives and practices that prioritize the general health of the society and individuals it serves, including itself, and improve their health status, raise awareness and guide the patient on these issues, apart from dental treatments.

The principles of use and sterile instrument used in endodontics, Medical and dental evaluation, diagnose and treatment planning, vital pulp therapies, local anesthetic application, saliva isolation, preparing access cavity, cleaning and shaping of root canals, intracanal medication, obturation of root canals and radiographic imaging
