Objectives of the Course | |||||
To define the basic concepts of occupational health and occupational diseases, to comprehend the role of occupational safety specialist in terms of diseases that affect worker health and arise from the working environment, their importance, risk groups, preventive methods and health surveillance of employees, to gain knowledge and skills for the protection and development of occupational health and safety. |

PO-1 Have comprehensive and up-to-date information about workplace environmental factors, working conditions and protection principles. PO-2 Has the ability to define, evaluate and eliminate occupational safety risks that may occur in the business environment by analyzing processes. PO-3 Has the ability to identify the health and safety problems of employees in various sectors, to produce solutions, to develop, implement and evaluate programs by using methods and tools appropriate to the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of occupational health and safety. PO-6 Acts in accordance with ethical and legal principles in the field of occupational health and safety. PO-7 Knows the legislation on occupational health and safety, follows the relevant agenda and changes. PO-8 Understands interdisciplinary interaction on occupational health and safety, participates in teamwork in identifying and solving problems related to the field, and shares information. |

Introduction to occupational diseases, classification of occupational diseases, most common occupational diseases of Turkey, occupational disease affecting factors, classification of common occupational diseases, occupational diseases according to the sector and risk factors, obligations of employees and employers, the responsibility of occupational physicians and occupational safety specialists Medical and legal liability of occupational diseases, notification of occupational diseases, methods of preventing occupational diseases (medical, work environment, worker protection measures), legislation on occupational diseases. | ||
