Objectives of the Course
The purpose of this course is to teach scientific reasoning and its characteristics and its relationship with science achievement to pre-service science teachers.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Students will be able to define scientific reasoning’ characteristics. PO-1 An MA student has theoretical and practical knowledge depending on his bachelor’s degree proficiencies on an expertise level on Turkish Education; improves and deepens this knowledge.
PO-4 An MA student produces new results by combining his/her fields knowledge with the knowledge he gained from the other fields.
PO-6 An MA student constructs a problem in his/her field, develops solutions, solves, evaluates the results and applies them when necessary.

Characteristics of scientific reasoning and its relationship with science achievement, scientific reasoning and concept teaching, characteristics of formal operational stage, determing variables and controlling (dependent and inedependent variables, controlled variable etc.), Relational thinking, Combinational thinking, Probabilistic thinking, Proportional thinking, Hypothetical thinking, Scientific reasoning with Predict-observe-explain method, Activities accelarating cognitive enhancement through science education.
