Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to give general information about the developments in Turkish foreign policy during the period from the end of the Cold War to the present and to discuss current issues.

The students who succeeded in this course:

Course Contents
While the end of the Cold War changed the structure of the international system, it also produced great changes in the foreign policy of the states. Turkey compared to the previous period, with 1990 located in the center of a very different foreign policy agenda. This course will primarily focus on how Turkish foreign policy has been affected by changes and new developments in the post-Cold War period. Special focus will be on relations with Iraq, Greece, the USA and Syria. Then in 2001 the world experienced the events of September 11 and will discuss new developments, especially in the regions adjacent to Turkey caused. In addition, new concepts and preferences used in explaining Turkish foreign policy especially in the 2000s will be explained with examples, especially around relations with the Middle East and the Balkans.
