Objectives of the Course
Gaining a social work perspective on problems and needs by analyzing youth, adulthood and old age period, life periods and problems of these periods, determining social work practices in the mezzo system, exemplifying the process of conducting social work studies in cooperation with organizations, young adulthood and old age period Examination of biological-psychological-sociological characteristics and mental illnesses is aimed within the scope of the course.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can explain the relationship between human behavior and social and cultural factors. PO-24 Explains the interaction of human behavior with the social environment with its basic dimensions.
Examination
LO-2 can comprehend the biological, psychological and sociological development specific to the developmental periods of young and middle adulthood and old age. PO-23 Makes use of development and personality theories while explaining human behavior.
PO-25 Uses information about developmental periods and adaptation problems that may be encountered during developmental periods for social work practices.
PO-29 Provides social services and consultancy services in accordance with the needs of individuals in different developmental stages.
Examination
LO-3 can explain the cooperation between social work practices and organizations. PO-10 Structures the communication between institutions for the solution of the problems it deals with.
Examination
LO-4 can explain the social work roles in the mezzo system. PO-9 As a social technician, they develop their competence in this field by taking responsibility in studies with individuals, groups and society.
PO-13 Collaborates with other colleagues in the team by an interdisciplinary approach in social work interventions.
Examination
LO-5 can raise awareness about mental and social problems that are frequently encountered in young-middle adulthood and old age. PO-23 Makes use of development and personality theories while explaining human behavior.
PO-29 Provides social services and consultancy services in accordance with the needs of individuals in different developmental stages.
PO-31 Makes use of other disciplines (Psychology, Sociology, Law) that form the basis of social work and uses the knowledge related to the subject areas.

Course Contents
This course includes; social factors affecting human behavior such as social diversity and identity, social justice and human rights, gender; the biological-psychological and sociological characteristics of young and middle adulthood and old age; mental disorders specific to developmental periods; social work practices with organizations; It includes the topics of social work roles in the mezzo system.
