Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to convey the basic concepts of health psychology and related research methods. Biological, psychological and social concepts related to health, illness and well-being will be examined. To convey issues such as health-related beliefs, addiction, pain, and stress in the light of relevant literature and current studies.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Defines the basic concepts and theories of health psychology. PO-2 It acts in accordance with social, scientific, cultural and ethical values in the stages of collecting, interpreting, applying and announcing the results of the data related to the field.

LO-2 Defines stress, can use ways to cope with stress. PO-7 When faced with unforeseen situations in the field, it produces solutions by using its basic knowledge.

Definition, scope, sub-branches of psychology, what is health, what are the components of being healthy, what are the criteria of abnormality and normality, what is stress, what are stress models, physical and psychological effects of stress, ways to cope with stress, pain physiology, pain types and theories, pain management, healthy nutrition, diet and eating habits, what are the necessary behaviors to increase physical activity, what is healthy sleep, what is sleep hygiene, what are the sleep cycles and sleep stages, what is addiction, what are the types of addiction, alcohol addiction, depression, anxiety disorders, dementia, what are alzheimer's, psychotic disorders, mourning process, types of mental trauma?
