Objectives of the Course
This course aims to familiarize students with note-taking techniques. Also, the aim of this course is to improve students’ note-taking skills with intraclass practices. In translation studies, especially during consecutive translation, since learning note-taking techniques is essential, this course contributes to the development of translation skills.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can listen to English and Turkish texts effectively PO-2 To be able to have basic and specialized knowledge about the language and history of the cultures taught
PO-3 To have problem solving skills to compete with the problems due to the cultural and lingual differences

PO-7 To specialise either in translation or interpretation
PO-8 To have a self awareness about the importance of the field for contemporary world and the role and identity of the translator/interpreter as an intercultural expert

Course Contents
In this course, students prepare for interpreting lessons. By watching and listening to the recorded texts in real contexts in audio and visual formats, based on the notes they have taken and the information they have in their memories, they re-transmit what they have heard in the source language and summarize and re-express in the target language.
