Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable the students to interpret literary texts with various methods in accordance with the structure of the texts, and transfer this to translation process. Theoretical concepts and strategies that influence translation methods are also discussed by evaluating various problems that may be encountered in literary translation process within their historical, social and cultural contexts. Extant literary translations will be approached critically, and exercises will be held concerning different textual types, figures of speech and structural elements.

LO-1 learn conceptual and theoretical approaches in literary translation PO-2 To be able to have basic and specialized knowledge about the language and history of the cultures taught

PO-14 To have a wide knowledge of terminologies of specific fields in both languages
PO-16 To be able to identify the problems that may be encountered in the translation process and developing appropriate strategies to overcome these problems
Examination
LO-2 can make translation of literary texts individually or as a member of a group. PO-2 To be able to have basic and specialized knowledge about the language and history of the cultures taught
