Objectives of the Course | |||||
The course gives the students a general idea of the social, cultural and literary developments that took place in England and America in the past. The course deals with English literature, starting from the Anglo-Saxon period, American literature, starting from the period of early exploration to the end of 20th century whilst acquainting them with the main literary genres and conventions through the study of extracts from the original texts. |
