Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to introduce children’s literature and problems specific to the translation of this genre and develop some specific skills through intensive practice in translation.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can analyse the linguistic characteristics of children's literature. PO-6 To be able to provide cooperation with the related sectors
PO-7 To specialise either in translation or interpretation
PO-14 To have a wide knowledge of terminologies of specific fields in both languages
PO-15 To be able to have knowledge of the terminology of various fields (Science, Social and Health Sciences etc.) and being able to use second foreign language and English both as a source and a target language
PO-16 To be able to identify the problems that may be encountered in the translation process and developing appropriate strategies to overcome these problems
Examination
LO-2 can translate the works of classical and popular children's literature. PO-3 To have problem solving skills to compete with the problems due to the cultural and lingual differences
PO-4 To be able to think analiytically
PO-6 To be able to provide cooperation with the related sectors
PO-7 To specialise either in translation or interpretation
PO-8 To have a self awareness about the importance of the field for contemporary world and the role and identity of the translator/interpreter as an intercultural expert
PO-12 To easily be attuned to the current changes in the sector
PO-13 To have the abilities to orientate and transform the expectations of the sector
PO-15 To be able to have knowledge of the terminology of various fields (Science, Social and Health Sciences etc.) and being able to use second foreign language and English both as a source and a target language

Examination
LO-3 become familiar with the theories of children's literature translation that guide the translation process. PO-2 To be able to have basic and specialized knowledge about the language and history of the cultures taught
