Objectives of the Course
It will contribute to the students' comprehension of the processes (cultural, political, scientific and historical) of design history from the 19th century until today and how this is reflected in the present. In this context, they will have acquired the basic knowledge and equipment to mature their own designs.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 They will be able to discuss contemporary design debates and discourses from the 19th century to the present in historical context and continuity. Will be able to define the basic concepts of current design discourses. PO-8 Students have the ability to analyze technical and aesthetic issues.
PO-9 Students produce innovative and original solutions to the problems they encounter.

LO-2 They will be able to recognize important modern design products, buildings and interiors. PO-3 Students have technical knowledge in interior architecture and other areas of design.
PO-4 Students have the ability to think and express in two and three dimensions in the problems they encounter.

Course Contents
It focuses on the history of space design in the 19th century and beyond. In this context, the movements that emerged in the Ottoman period, the Industrial Revolution and after, Arts And Craft, Art Noveau, Werkbund, Futurism, De Stijl, Bauhaus, Constructivism, Art Deco, Brutalism, Post Modernism, High-Tech, Deconstructivism; Republican period and post-Republican architectural movements in Turkey are transferred to the students.
