Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to analyze the influences and sources of Sufi thought in the early Ottoman Empire.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can analyse origins of the Ottoman mentality. PO-3 To have a satisfactory knowledge of the history, concepts, institutions, philosophy and main figures of Sufism.
PO-7 To be able to evaluate Religion and religious issues philosophically, sociologically and psychologically.
Examination
LO-2 can explain the effectiveness of Ibn 'Arabi's thought in Ottoman civilization. PO-3 To have a satisfactory knowledge of the history, concepts, institutions, philosophy and main figures of Sufism.
PO-7 To be able to evaluate Religion and religious issues philosophically, sociologically and psychologically.
Examination
LO-3 can explain the tension points among Islamic sciences in the early Ottoman period. PO-3 To have a satisfactory knowledge of the history, concepts, institutions, philosophy and main figures of Sufism.

Course Contents
Ottoman Sufi thinkers and writers between 1300-1450, their works, main discussion topics and Ottoman mindset issues constitute the content of the course.
