Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and skills for the development of children's literature in Turkish and World literature, the design, content and basic education principles that should be found in a good children's book, and to choose children's books suitable for the development of preschool (3-6) children.

Course Contents
This course includes the development of children's literature in the world and in Turkey; the importance of meeting qualified children's books in childhood and the function of children's literature in raising thinking and sensitive individuals who have acquired a reading culture; examining the features (design, content and educational) that should be found in children's literature works with examples; demonstrating unqualified children's books with examples and discussing their negative effects on children's developmental characteristics; studies to determine the suitability of the books that pre-service teachers read and examine for children according to their age groups and which development these will contribute to the children; It includes the determination of the contribution of various literary genres (epic, fairy tale, poem, story, novel, etc.) and linguistic tools (numbers, rhymes, riddles, etc.) that appeal to children to the development of children.
