Objectives of the Course
To gain knowledge and skills about gifted children and their general characteristics. To give information about the applications made with gifted students in mathematics education. To gain knowledge about working with families.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Knows the basic principles of giftedness. PO-3 Explains the concepts and the relations between concepts related to the field at a level that can meet the needs of the students.

LO-2 Have an idea about the characteristics of gifted students. PO-5 Has the knowledge about students’ developmental and learning characteristics and also learning difficulties.

Definition and basic principles of giftedness; characteristics of gifted students; social relations and teaching situations of gifted students with other students, advantages and disadvantages of labeling; supporting gifted students in mathematics lessons, methods and techniques related to the education of gifted students; applications and assessment with gifted students.
