Objectives of the Course
The main purpose of this course is to examine the physical, mental, emotional and social development of the individual during his/her life.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain the characteristics of the transition to adulthood (appearing adulthood). PO-2 Explains the knowledge about the theories, approaches and basic concepts of psychological counseling and guidance.
PO-5 Uses all the knowledge and skills which are necessary for establishing, lasting and ending the professional psychological counseling relationship with the individuals.
PO-27 Uses the most appropriate teaching strategies, methods and techniques considering students’ developmental characteristics, individual differences, characteristics and achievements of the subject area.
Examination
LO-2 Can explain the effect of adapting to work life on mental health in young adulthood. PO-2 Explains the knowledge about the theories, approaches and basic concepts of psychological counseling and guidance.
PO-6 Supplies group or individual psychological counseling services, in the fields of vocational, individual and social, to the different age ranges and target audience, according to the needs.
PO-29 Gains awareness about normal and abnormal behaviors and the dynamics of the behaviors of indivuals.
Examination
LO-3 Can give examples from daily life of the relationship between developmental tasks specific to middle adulthood and problems that may be encountered. PO-2 Explains the knowledge about the theories, approaches and basic concepts of psychological counseling and guidance.
PO-29 Gains awareness about normal and abnormal behaviors and the dynamics of the behaviors of indivuals.
PO-30 Identifies cultural and socio-economic characteristics of indivduals and socities.

Transition to adulthood (emerging adulthood); basic characteristics of young adulthood, developmental tasks specific to young adulthood, establishing close relationships in young adulthood, adaptation to working life in young adulthood; basic features of middle adulthood importance, developmental tasks specific to middle adulthood and problems that may be encountered, physical development in middle adulthood, cognitive development in middle adulthood, personality development in middle adulthood, psycho-social development in middle adulthood; Basic features of old age, developmental tasks specific to old age, physical development in old age, personality development in old age, cognitive development in old age and psycho-social development in old age.
