Objectives of the Course
The general aim of this course is to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes about psychological counseling.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain the basic concepts and principles of psychological counseling. PO-2 Explains the knowledge about the theories, approaches and basic concepts of psychological counseling and guidance.
Examination
LO-2 Can guides the client to set goals in psychological counseling. PO-29 Gains awareness about normal and abnormal behaviors and the dynamics of the behaviors of indivuals.
PO-32 Provides services in a way that integrates cognitive, behavioral, emotional, cultural and spiritual dimensions in the counseling process with individuals and groups.
Examination
LO-3 Can determine the counseling strategies and interventions suitable for the client's problem PO-2 Explains the knowledge about the theories, approaches and basic concepts of psychological counseling and guidance.
PO-5 Uses all the knowledge and skills which are necessary for establishing, lasting and ending the professional psychological counseling relationship with the individuals.
PO-32 Provides services in a way that integrates cognitive, behavioral, emotional, cultural and spiritual dimensions in the counseling process with individuals and groups.
Examination
LO-4 Can apply the basic skills used in the counseling process in order to establish an effective communication between the counselor and the client. PO-3 Explains the knowledge about the services, restraints and the associations with the other disciplines of the psychological counseling and guidance.
PO-32 Provides services in a way that integrates cognitive, behavioral, emotional, cultural and spiritual dimensions in the counseling process with individuals and groups.

Course Contents
It covers the knowledge and skills required to manage sessions, evaluate and conceptualize client problems, set goals, use advanced counseling skills, determine strategies and choose interventions, terminate and monitor the counseling process.
