Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to gain knowledge and understanding about the history of the Ottoman Empire from its foundation until 1774.

LO-1 Explains the political, social and cultural developments of the Ottoman Empire between 1299-1774. PO-2 Have knowledge about evaluating limits accuracy, reliability and validity from nature of the source of information.

Course Contents
The period from the establishment of the Ottoman state (1299) to the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca (1774); political developments in the Ottoman Empire during this time; state organization and local government units; social life and social institutions, cultural developments and characteristics of important personalities; The relationship of the Ottoman Empire with other surrounding states and communities.
