Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course; To be able to comprehend society in the context of sociological discourse, to comprehend society and social change, types of society within the framework of sociological theories/approaches, and to understand the shaping of the phenomenon of education and the development of education in society both in terms of fact and institutional, and to enable students to question their life in this direction.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can explain the basic concepts and development of the sociology of education. PO-9 Uses knowledge and skills, which he or she evaluates with a critical approach, to solve the problems he or she encounters in the his or her field and social life as an effective citizen who makes well reasoned decisions.
PO-20 Has the knowledge of developing strategies, creating teaching programs and preparing teaching materials in line with the information he or she has acquired

Course Contents
This course covers the factors affecting the education and training process as a process, theories in the sociology of education, socialization and social functions of education, social change and alienation, school and class as a social system, school and class as a social system, school and class as a social system. The teaching profession covers topics such as social mobility, stratification and education, cultural foundations of education, globalization and educational problems of different countries.
