Objectives of the Course | |||||
This course was designed to provide teacher candidates with basic concepts and terminology regarding language and society. The relationships between language and society will be covered at an introductory level. Language change and variation and their relations to parameters such as social class, gender, ethnicity will be discussed |

Course Contents | ||
The content of this course consists of topics that examine the relationship between language and society. These topics include basic terminology about sociolinguistics, language change, dialect, language and social class, language and gender, ethnic identity, and discussions about them. | ||
