Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to examine social structure, settlement patterns and art of the Byzantine Cappadocia.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 can identify historical chronology of Byzantine Cappadocia. PO-9 Solve the conservation of archaeological material and its publicity in relation to tourism and environment.
PO-12 History, geography, economics, anthropology, architecture, etc. can use the data of different scientific disciplines to solve the problems of Archeology.
Presentation
LO-2 can interpret architectural remains and wall paintings in Byzantine Cappadocia. PO-1 Be able to conduct and present detailed research in accordance with scientific norms on a specific subject related to the field.
PO-4 It can teach the knowledge and skills acquired in the field.
PO-6 He/she can carry out studies that will make new contributions to the science of archeology in his field of specialization.

Course Contents
Among the topics of this course include the rise of Christianity in Cappadocia, its historical events, settlements, art and architecture. This course will especially introduce to students local workshops of wall paintings, rural settlements and the reflection of social changes in the Byzantine Cappadocia.
