Objectives of the Course | |||||
The Persian founded the satrapal administrative organization which they well- practiced in the east part of the Empire in Anatolia. This system set an example for the administrational organization of Alexander the Great. In the course, the administrative organization and the foundation of satrapies in the western Anatolia, the roles of satraps will be determined in the light of ancient sources and archaeological evidence. The satraps of the western Anatolia were important because of their pivotal role in the relations between the Greeks and the Persian Empire, for this reason the relations between Persians and Greeks and the other native populations of the region will be emphasized. |
