Objectives of the Course | |||||
The aim of this course is to enable the student to evaluate the historical and cultural events seen in England in the period starting from the Renaissance period until the end of the 17th century, to observe how poetry and prose developed in this process, and to examine the genres and major literary works that emerged and developed during this period in the light of these developments. To provide students with the knowledge, skills and competencies to interpret. |

Course Contents | ||
This course begins with the introduction of the Renaissance period, its history and literature, and continues by giving information about 17th century English history, culture and literature. Afterwards, examples from the writers and works of Renaissance English literature and 17th century English literature are examined, discussed and interpreted. | ||
