Objectives of the Course | |||||
The aim of the "Literature and Society" course is to understand and analyze the interaction between literature and societal structures, and the resulting cultural, social, and political dynamics. This course enables students to examine the societal messages, ideological stances, and reflections of social changes over time in literary works. Additionally, by evaluating the impact of literature on society, it helps develop a profound understanding of societal norms, values, and belief systems. This course assists students in comprehending how literature contributes to humanity's collective experience and plays a role in societal transformation. |

Course Contents | ||
In this course, various drama, fiction and poetry works from different cultures will be examined. The relationship between literature and society will be interrogated, examining how various genres of literary works reflect on different aspects of society and identifying the ways in which they intersect with real-life experiences. Furthermore, the course will discuss the power of literature to guide and transform society. | ||
