Objectives of the Course
This course is to gain proficiency in reading and understanding works written in Ottoman Turkish and archive materials. It aims to provide information about and evaluate manuscripts and inscriptions.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can easily read and analyze an inscription, painting or tombstone. PO-1 History and arts of Islam develops and deepens his/her knowledge in the same or a different field at the level of expertise based on undergraduate level qualifications in the field.
PO-2 History and arts of Islam understands the interdisciplinary interaction related to the field and conducts joint studies with different disciplines.
PO-5 History and arts of Islam interpret, analyze and create new information by integrating the knowledge acquired in the field with information from different disciplinary fields.
Examination

Course Contents
This course covers the general structure and reading rules of Ottoman Turkish. Ottoman manuscripts. It includes inscriptions, coins and other historical sources, as well as inscriptions on tombstones.
