Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to deal with the theoretical discussions on postmodernism and religion starting from the period of modernism in detail and in this context, to examine in depth the social appearances, effects and transformations of religion in the postmodern process.

Learning Outcomes PO MME
The students who succeeded in this course:
LO-1 Can discuss the theories related to modernism. PO-1 Develop and deepen their knowledge in the same or a different field at the level of expertise based on undergraduate level qualifications in the field.
PO-10 Transfer the current developments and projects carried out in the field to the groups in and out of the field by supporting them with quantitative and qualitative data through appropriate communication tools.
Examination
LO-2 Can discuss the theories related to modernism. Evaluate postmodernist theories. PO-1 Develop and deepen their knowledge in the same or a different field at the level of expertise based on undergraduate level qualifications in the field.
PO-3 Uses the resources in the related field effectively based on undergraduate level qualifications.
PO-5 Interpret, analyse and create new information by integrating the information obtained in the field with information from different disciplines.
Examination
LO-3 Evaluate the social and cultural reflections of postmodernism in the light of the theories and concepts discussed. PO-1 Develop and deepen their knowledge in the same or a different field at the level of expertise based on undergraduate level qualifications in the field.
PO-2 Understands the interdisciplinary interaction related to the field and conducts joint project with different disciplines.
PO-3 Uses the resources in the related field effectively based on undergraduate level qualifications.

Course Contents
The topics to be discussed include modernism, structuralism, poststructuralism and postmodernism and the views of Foucault, Harvey, Lyotard, Jameson and Baudrillar on these issues. In the light of these views, the common outcomes of the new social characteristics emerging with the postmodern period with religion are discussed.
