Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course ‘Religious Education According to Developmental Stages’ is to enable students to understand the religious development processes of children and young people and to gain the ability to prepare and implement religious education programmes appropriate to these developmental stages. Students will adopt an approach that takes into account individual differences and develops teaching methods suitable for age groups by using developmental psychology theories in the context of religious education.

LO-1 Students understand the developmental stages of religious education and the theoretical foundations of these stages. PO-1 Develop and deepen their knowledge in the same or a different field at the level of expertise based on undergraduate level qualifications in the field.

PO-3 Uses the resources in the related field effectively based on undergraduate level qualifications.

Examination
LO-2 Students develop religious education materials appropriate to developmental stages and use these materials effectively. PO-6 Carry out a study that requires expertise in the field independently.
PO-7 Develop new approaches to solve complex and unpredictable problems encountered in applications related to the field.
PO-8 Lead in solving problems related to the field; organise personal, institutional and team work at the level of expertise.
PO-9 Examine and develop social relations and the norms guiding these relations from a critical perspective and take action to change them when necessary.

Course Contents
This course deals with the stages of religious development of children and young people and the characteristics of these stages in a comprehensive way. The content of the course includes education plans and teaching methods appropriate to developmental stages, sensitivity to individual differences, appropriate evaluation methods and development of educational materials. The role of cultural and familial factors in religious education is also examined.
