Objectives of the Course | |||||
Among the aims of the child protection course in sports, students should understand the basic concepts of child protection, children's rights and international conventions, have knowledge about the types of child neglect and abuse in sports, risk factors, symptoms and consequences, learn appropriate response techniques, child protection policies in international sports and To learn about legal regulations, to learn about child protection practices in sports in Turkey, to have information about coach-athlete communication and relationship, to learn coach ethical principles and codes of conduct for child protection in sports, to learn the protective environment and responsibility rings of family, coach and It includes gaining information about the sports club, gaining the necessary skills for the evaluation and improvement of child protection practices in sports, and thinking deeply about child neglect and abuse in sports through sample cases and analyses. |

PO-1 They have knowledge of concepts and principles related to Sports Sciences, Coaching, Conditioning, and Performance Analysis in Sports. PO-6 They define the process of planning, conducting, reporting, presenting, and developing scientific research related to coaching, including accessing information, designing research, and related statistical concepts within the framework of ethical rules. PO-11 They investigate and research problems encountered by athletes of different age groups, genders, and training levels in the fields of Sports Sciences, Coaching, Conditioning, and Performance Analysis in Sports. The "Child Protection in Sport" course aims to teach students the fundamental concepts of child protection, children's rights, and international conventions. The course covers types of child neglect and abuse in sports, risk factors, signs, and consequences, as well as appropriate response techniques and policies for child protection in international sports and legal regulations. Additionally, it addresses practices for child protection in sports in Turkey, coach-athlete communication, ethical principles, and responsibilities related to the protective environment, equipping students with the necessary skills for evaluating and improving child protection practices. | ||
