Objectives of the Course |
The aim of this course is to teach the sintering process, which is a basic densification method in powder metallurgy and ceramic processes, with its theoretical and practical aspects. It is aimed to provide students with information and analysis skills about sintering mechanisms, thermodynamic and kinetic fundamentals, microstructure formation, furnace and atmospheric conditions used, and the effects of sintering parameters on final product properties. It is to provide information on sintering applications in different types of materials (metallic, ceramic, composite), advanced sintering techniques (e.g. spark plasma sintering, hot pressing, etc.) and industrial applications. |
