Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Gülşehir Social Sciences Vocational School was founded with the 4637-030117 numbered and 17.09.2007 dated decision of Higher Education Commission as bounded to Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Gülşehir Social SciencesVocational School Local Governments Programme started its educational life as a pre-licence programme in 2009-2010. In 2010-2011 together with normal education, night education programme was also founded. It is a Turkish-medium programme. |

In our country, in order to enroll a university, one needs to be successful in an exam called YGS. The only requirement for enrolling a pre-licence programme is bound to only this examination. The students send their list of choices for the universities they would like to go according to the results they get to the center of choice and placement of students (ÖSYM) ÖSYM is a foundation bounded to YÖK. ÖSYM accepts the applicants of the students, group them according to the kind of the point, queues the points from the highest to the lowest, distributes the list of the all existing programmes and places the students one of these programmes according to the points they have scored. For those who are foreigners of the country, another examination (YÖS) is conducted, and according to the results of this exam, they are placed to the universities too. In all higher education programmes, the process of knowing the previous knowledge is just at the beginning level. That’s why, in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, the study of knowing the previous knowledge of the students has not yet started. Nevertheless; for the lessons like computer and English which all have their places in the programme, proficiency tests are conducted at the beginning of the term. The students who are thought to be successful enough in these lessons have the right to take the exams required. The students who get successful results from the lessons mentioned pass them directly. |
In order to obtain an associate degree in Foreign Trade, students should complete all of their compulsory and elective courses successfully (120 ECTS in total) and should have at least 2.00 GPA out of 4.00. |
The programme of Local Governments aims to raise students who have been educated in the subjects of politics, law, local governments, urbanization and environmental problems, especially who have the theoretical knowledge required to take positions in different layers of local governments and state sectors, who would be side workers, directors of different levels in local governments (municipalities) putting this knowledge into use. The students who want to be a part of this programme should raise themselves in public relations, management sciences, direction of the workers. Moreover, these candidates should be humble and qualified enough to get on well with other people who also have the knowledge of local governments. |

The students who successfully graduate from this programme are called as “the occupational worker of local governments”. The people who get this title work as the nearest to those at the top in local governments as the closest assistant and conduct the decisions taken. The people who graduate from this programme generally take positions in municipalities, governments and in the foundations founded as a side branch to these. There is a huge need for raised and qualified worker in this field, as localization has been much a lot in the process of European Union and as local governments have been much more active than before probably as a result of this process. |

For each student, to register in pre-determined dates and enter the final examinations, it’s essential to continue at least %70 of the courses and %80 of applications. Students take at least 1 mid-term and 1 final exam for each course. The contribution of mid-terms is %40 and of final exams is %60 to achievement score. All the exams are evaluated out of 100. Student who take (AA),(BA),(BB),(CB) and (CC) are successfull. (DC) and (DD) are conditional grades. For a student, in order to be successful with (DC) and (DD) grades, his/her GPA should be at least 2.00. |
In order to complete this programme successfully, it is required to pass all the available cources of the programme (120 ECTS) ,to get 2.00 GPA out of 4.00 and to complete 30 days of compulsory internship. |
