INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES / ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING (MASTER'S DEGREE WITHOUT THESIS)

History

Nevşehir University Institute of Social Sciences was established as a result of combining fame and identities in the Official Gazette numbered 26536 on May 29, 2007. Students are accepted to the Non-Thesis Master's Program in the Department of Accounting and Auditing in the 2024–2025 Academic Year. The language of instruction is Turkish.


Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a non-thesis master's degree in Accounting and Auditing.

Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates who will apply to the non-thesis Master's program must have an undergraduate graduation grade point average of at least 50.00 out of 100 on the 100 point system and at least 2.00 out of 4 point system. There is no ALES requirement for the non-thesis Master's program. It is sufficient for candidates who will apply to the non-thesis Master's program to have graduated from any undergraduate program of the university. There will be no interview/science exam.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In the non-thesis master's program, at least 10 courses, not less than 30 credits, must be taken and the term project must be successful.


Profile of The Programme

The main purpose of the program is to train self-confident, expert individuals who have the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of today's and tomorrow's working life. The non-thesis master's program takes 1.5 years in total, 1 year of coursework and 1 semester of term project. Each student is assigned an advisor and students make their course preferences with the help of their advisor faculty members.

PO-1 Based on the 4-year undergraduate level qualifications in the field of business administration or if they have undergraduate education in another field, students who have taken the necessary courses and have reached this qualification can develop and deepen their knowledge in the field of accounting at the level of expertise.
PO-2 Explains the interaction of accounting with disciplines such as sociology, psychology and quantitative methods.
PO-3 They will have the ability to transfer their knowledge of accounting to employees and teammates within the business.

PO-6 Analyzes financial events on a theoretical basis.

PO-13 Theoretical knowledge about the importance of accounting for businesses, its scope, basic accounting concepts, financial and financial ratios and tables of enterprises, and the ability to use this information.
PO-15 Students will be able to comprehend the basic principles of accounting, auditing and tax issues and will be able to use these principles effectively in the decision-making process.
PO-16 Students will be able to develop solutions for complex problems encountered and/or unforeseen in practice, report and present these proposals in accordance with academic publication rules.
PO-17 Students have advanced knowledge about the basic concepts of business administration, the basic functions of business, the historical development of business science, its relations with other disciplines, businesses and their environment, business objectives, feasibility studies, business functions, cooperation between firms and entrepreneurship, and take and apply managerial decisions on these issues.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Students are subjected to at least 1 midterm and 1 final exam for each course. Midterm exams contribute 40% to the success grade, and the final exam contributes 60%. All exams are evaluated out of 100 points. Students who receive one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) in a course are considered to have passed that course.


Graduation Requirements

To successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all courses in the program and successfully complete the term project.

Facilities

The department's education and training activities are carried out by a large number of professors, associate professors, assistant professors, research assistants and research assistants. The courses in the department are held in classrooms with a capacity of 45 people and projection equipment. The students of the department can benefit from the library and computer laboratory, which are open throughout the day, free of charge.
