Social Sciences Institute was founded 2007. MBA program started formal education 2007-2008 academic years. Scientific preparation class is also started 2010-2011 academic years. The language of education of the department is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to attend MBA, the students are obliged to get at least 55 from ALES (Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Examination) in Turkey and 55 points of graduation grade. The foreign students are also accepted with limited quota according to YOS results (The examination for foreign student). Specific Admission Requirements: 1 – Bachelor’s degree, 2 - ALES Examination Result (ALES Equally Weighted.) 3 – Transcript (transkript) 4 – Foreign Language Examination Result (YDS, YÖKDİL, TOEFL etc.)


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

The recognition of prior education in Turkish Higher Education Institutions is still at the beginning level. Therefore, the recognition of prior education has not been started completely in all the departments of Nevşehir Hacı Bektas Veli University.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to graduate from this MBA program and earn the “Business Specialist” degree, the students have to complete all the lessons and master' thesis successfully with at least 120 ECTS or they have to get at least 70 (CC) cumulative grade point average from 100 gpa.


Profile of The Programme

The objective of the program is to prepare the students giving them contemporary business knowledge for making scientific researches, reaching new information, assessing the knowledge, interpreting and producing original knowledge, and thus having important tasks and responsibilities in the management of institutions which have great impacts on the society and business life. The MBA program carries out its internal and external activities by means of rectorship as supreme institution. The department trains the students so as to work in many fields especially in the public and private sector. The stakeholders of the department are SPK (the capital market board), DPT (state planning organization), Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Finance, Universities, Research Institutes and Institutes. The Business Department gives higher education to the students with qualified academic staff. In this department, the projects supported by BAP and TUBITAK are carried out.


Key Learning Outcomes of the Programme

PO-1 Have advanced knowledge about the basic concepts of business administration, the basic functions of the business management science, the historical development of it, its relationships with other disciplines, businesses and the environment, business objectives, feasibility studies, business functions, cooperation between firms and entrepreneurship, and apply them and make administrative decisions on these issues.
PO-2 Analyze and design at the organizational level, understand the functions of business management that are planning, organizing, execution, coordination and control, describe and apply them, and be acknowledged with modern management perspectives.
PO-3 Have information about the basic concepts of strategic management, strategic management process and strategic analysis and strategy selection, implementation and control strategies
PO-4 Have advanced level of knowledge on topics such as job analysis, provision and assigning of human resources, career, performance evaluation and performance-based pricing which are within the scope of human resources management applications that are encountered in both public and private sector.
PO-5 Have advanced level of knowledge on new concepts, techniques, and applications emerged in recent years in the field of organizational behavior along with topics such as human and human behavior in organizations, perception, attitude and personality.
PO-6 Have the importance of accounting in terms of firms, its extent, basic accounting concepts, theoretical knowledge on financial ratios and charts and they can use these datum.
PO-7 Comprehend the basic principles and techniques of cost accounting and have information about cost accounts in uniform chart of accounts.
PO-8 Have knowledge and skills intended for theoric and practice on ethics, legislative framework, auditing standards and deception by having information about basic audit principles and techniques and reporting the audits issues.
PO-9 Have knowledge of basic information, usage, evaluation and making comment about business finance, of analyzing the economic, social and financial developments, of understanding of financial systems, of financial planning and of interpretation of financial statements belonging to firms.
PO-10 Comprehend the market developments, follow and comment on them, while having the knowledge of capital market and new financial techniques.
PO-11 Understand and comprehend market research, information systems, consumer behaviors, strategic marketing, global markets, product and service strategies, product life curve, pricing and supply chain in the points of providing continuity of businesses in the process of globalization.
PO-12 Become skilful at maths, econometrics and statistics, making more effective decisions with econometric and statistical analysis. Furthermore, they are capable of predicting the outcomes of these decisions and interpreting the cause and effect relation.
PO-13 It helps the students model their decision-making problem about life using the linear programming techniques, solve the simplex and transportation problems and interpret the outcomes in terms of technical and economical
PO-14 Have knowledge of new approaches used in production, fundamentals of production management, production systems, distribution planning and break-even analysis, installation placement and production planning.
PO-15 Use modern methods and technologies of business administration including analytical thinking and information technology in the first instance

Job opportunities of our graduates can be arranged like that: Banks, private sector enterprises, high-ranking staffs of public bureaucracy such as the treasury, state planning organization, ministry of industry and commerce and ministry of labour and other official duty positions. Also, graduates of this programme can set up their own businesses as an interventional activity.


Access to Further Studies

Candidates who finished post graduate education successfully can receive education at doctoral programs providing that they have sufficient marks from ALES exam and have adequately English.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Each student have to enroll the courses at the beginning of the terms and they have to attend at least 70% of courses to take final exams. Students have to take at least one midterm exam and a final exam for each course. Midterm exams constitute 40% (assessment and evaluation instruments such as homework, laboratory exam and quiz can be evaluated as the midterm grade) and final exams %60 of the final grade. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Students must have a GPA of at least 70 (CC) in order to pass a course.


Graduation Requirements

These are required to successfully complete the program: pass all the courses are available on the program (120 ECTS), obtain at least 70 weighted GPA of 100 and successfully complete a master thesis.

Facilities

The academic activities of Master Program in Besiness Administration are carried out with 2 professors, 8 associate professors and 7 assistant professors. Educational and training activities in the department are performed in 3 classrooms for 30 person. All classrooms have projection devices and also there is a student computer lab with internet connection and a student canteen. In addition to that, the social sciences institute has the wireless internet connection opportunity.
