Information Of Programmes

GULSEHIR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES / LOGISTICS

History

Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Gülşehir Social Sciences Vocational School was founded with the 4637-030117 numbered and 17.09.2007 dated decision of Higher Education Commission as bounded to Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Gülşehir Vocational School Local Governments Programme started its educational life as a pre-licence programme in 2009-2010. In 2010-2011 together with normal education, night education programme was also founded. It is a Turkish-medium programme.


Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the lessons existing in the programme (totally equals with 120 ECTS) and acquire at least 2.00 GPA out of 4.00 are given the licences of Lojistics.

Specific Admission Requirements

In our country, in order to enroll a university, one needs to be successful in an exam called YGS. The only requirement for enrolling a pre-licence programme is bound to only this examination. The students send their list of choices for the universities they would like to go according to the results they get to the center of choice and placement of students (ÖSYM) ÖSYM is a foundation bounded to YÖK. ÖSYM accepts the applicants of the students, group them according to the kind of the point, queues the points from the highest to the lowest, distributes the list of the all existing programmes and places the students one of these programmes according to the points they have scored. For those who are foreigners of the country, another examination (YÖS) is conducted, and according to the results of this exam, they are placed to the universities too. The documents required for enrollment; 1- High School Licence or an equivalent of it 2- The document of placement result given by ÖSYM


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

In all higher education programmes, the process of knowing the previous knowledge is just at the beginning level. That’s why, in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, the study of knowing the previous knowledge of the students has not yet started. Nevertheless; for the lessons like computer and English which all have their places in the programme, proficiency tests are conducted at the beginning of the term. The students who are thought to be successful enough in these lessons have the right to take the exams required. The students who get successful results from the lessons mentioned pass them directly.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to obtain an associate degree in Foreign Trade, students should complete all of their compulsory and elective courses successfully (120 ECTS in total) and should have at least 2.00 GPA out of 4.00.


Profile of The Programme

The basic aim of the Lojistics Programme is to raise qualified experts ready to take positions in every layers of the field as soon as they graduate, who are appropriate for the changing and improving conditions of Turkey in order to manage a system, to enable the documents in the foundations, the transmission of the piece and the products strategically, to store and to raise the standards by facilitating the conditions. This programme conducts its interior and outer responsibilities together with the vocational school it is bounded to and with the rectorate

PO-1 Construct the needed base for the subjects like management, economics, marketing, law, accounting and logistics
PO-2 By studying interdisciplinary, use the theoretical and practical information in other fields to find solutions for the field of logistics.
PO-3 Find solutions for logistics with appropriate analytical methods by using means of logistics knowledge.
PO-4 Work out a system or process by analysing in accordance with a defined target.
PO-5 Use the required and modern techniques and instruments for the practices of storage, inventory and supply chain management.
PO-6 Use the data bases and other information resources by searching resources.
PO-7 Work effectively in interdisiplinary and nondisciplinary groups induvidually.
PO-8 Modernize themselves by following the latest improvements in the field.
PO-9 Know enough of the subjects like production planning, total quality management, puclic relations, entrepreneurship, foreign trade.
PO-10 Have the required information about production planning, total quality management, public relations, entrepreneurship, quality and protection of the environment and cultural values, and lastly about work health and security.
PO-11 Know the public ethics and values and show respect to them.
PO-12 Know Atatürk’s principles and reforms and protect them.

PO-14 Build spoken and written comminication both in Turkish and foreign language.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The students who successfully graduate from this programme can work in lojistic, purchase, supply chain management, production and marketing departments of firms of production and service; can work in purchase and deliver departments of retail enterprices while they can also work as an agent and consultant between firms and they can also found independent firms so that they would enter the market. They can take responsibilities in every department of firms which do air, land, railway and sea transportation and also in airports, ports, cargo enterprices. They can also work as consultants of Lojistics in firms, in some foundation who give educational service, in universities and in appropriate deparments of research foundations, in Ministry of Transportation, in Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade and in mucipialities.


Access to Further Studies

The students who successfully graduate can go on a licence programme on the condition that they take enough of the points in the exam required. (DGS)

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

All students have to make an enrollment of the lessons at the beginning of the term and have to join the lessons, applied studies, labs, seminars, practices, and the other studies of the term they enrolled. The students have to take at least one test and final examination for every lesson. The contribution of the test which is also called visa is %40, while it is %60 for final exams. (As an exam score, homework, lab examinations, quizzes can also be counted) Exams are graded out of 100. In the final examination of the term, one has to take at least 45 points. The ones who get (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) are accepted as successful. (DC) and (DD) are scores which are successful on the condion. In order for the student to be successful in the lessons from which he takes these result, his medium average score should be at least 2.00. The students who have not attended the %70 of theoretical and %80 of practical lessons are not allowed to take the final examinations. If the student shows enough of the importance and interest in attending the lessons, he doesn’t need to take the courses again next year as a result of his failure.

In order to complete this programme successfully, it is required to pass all the available cources of the programme (120 ECTS) ,to get 2.00 GPA out of 4.00 and to complete 30 days of compulsory internship.

Facilities

In Lojistics programme, educational activities are conducted with 3 lecturers. The lessons are done in the classes which all have capacities of 40 students and projections. There is also a computer lab being used in academic studies.
