GULSEHIR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES / FOREING TRADE

History

Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Gülşehir Social Sciences Vocational School started its Banking and Insurance, Foreign Trade, Logistics and Local Governments undergraduate programs in November 2, 2009 with 139 students who were accepted through additional quota. The building of our school has 2.948 square meters covered area. As for physical capacity, it has 4 classes for 42 students each and 4 other classes for 54 students each. Besides these, it has an application laboratory with 40 computers, a canteen for students and a dining hall.


Qualification Awarded

Upon completion of all courses of study (for a total of 120 ECTS), and at least 2.0 GPA on a 4.00 scale, Associate's Degree is awarded to the students in the field of Foreign Trade.

Specific Admission Requirements

In our country, for entry into universities in the Student Selection and Placement Center (SSPC) is required to be successful in the examination conducted by. Students according to their score as a result of examination, can enter the program by editing the preferences, preferred forms will send the Student Selection and Placement Center. All references to SSPC is, according to the type of application points groups, sorts the scores from highest to lowest, according to the preferred type of score lists all the existing programs and the students will place one of their preferred programs. Selection of students entering universities in our country of foreign nationals, Foreign Student Examination (YOS), called by the outcome of an exam center is possible within a certain quota. Documents required for registration; 1 - High school diploma or equivalent education, 2 - SSPC 'ce the outcome document of the placement.


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior learning process of the Turkish Higher Education System in its early stage. For this reason, recognition of prior learning, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, in all the programs are not fully initialized. However, plans for training programs for the computer and English courses such as the exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic term. This course provides the expected learning outcomes of students who have the right to take the exams. Those who pass the course program for students who take the exam will be exempted from that course.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to achieve the degree of pre-graduate students in the field of Foreign Trade of required and elective courses in the program (a total of 120 ECTS) and successfully complete all of the grade point average, on a 4.00 weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 would need to achieve.


Profile of The Programme

The basic objective of Foreign Trade, intense competitive environment, particularly towards emerging markets, including small and medium-sized enterprises to meet the industry's export offensive, armed with practical information on foreign trade, customs legislation, a judge, solution-oriented, aims to educate experts in foreign trade.

PO-2 Identify foreign trade-related problems, consider alternatives, and reach a conclusion based on logical analysis.

PO-5 Evaluate customs union agreements, customs regulations, foreign exchange regulations, import and export legistation.
PO-6 Apply foreign trade accounting and finance concepts and practices in business environments.
PO-7 Appraise the basics of law, foreign trade, public relations, total quality management, entrepreneurship and respect social and corporate ethical values.
PO-8 Appraise the value of Atatürk’s principles and reforms.
PO-9 Use basic communication and information technologies in accordance with computer software that is required by the department at least European Computer Operating Licence basic level
PO-10 Transmit acquired knowledge and skills related to the foreign trade department both in written and orally to the concerned.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Graduates of this program, in case of take the required score from KPSS, can be appointed to the customs authorities as a civil servant. In addition, they can work in foreign trade companies, and private sector organizations engaged in export and import customs consultancy/brokerage services.


Access to Further Studies

Students who successfully complete pre-license training exam by entering the vertical transition, in accordance with the Student Selection and Placement Center undergraduate programs in the undergraduate program may place them.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Each student's academic calendar to register for the pre-determined dates and a final exam in order to join the courses at least 70% of applications should be continued for at least 80%. Students for each course at least 1 midterm and final exam are subjected to. Weights, the contribution of the midterm exams 40%, 60% is the contribution of the final exam. The marking out of 100. One course (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC), one of the letter grades that the students are considered as successful. (DC) and (DD), the notes are notes that successful conditional. DC or DD grade in a course where the student to be successful you must have a GPA of at least 2.0


Graduation Requirements

To successfully complete the program, all of the courses available in the program (120 ECTS) to pass, at least 2.0 on a 4.00 weighted GPA and a 60-day mandatory to obtain the student must successfully complete the internship.

Facilities

Foreign Trade Program, education and training activities are carried out with 8 lecturers and 3 instructors. Lessons are conducted in classrooms with 40 persons capacity and the projection, 1 computer lab is used as an effective academic tool.
