History

The Alevi Bektashi Culture Department's doctoral program plans to start education in the 2023-2024 academic year within the body of the Hacı Bektaş Veli Research and Application Institute. The language of education is Turkish.


Qualification Awarded

Qualification Awarded Students who successfully complete all courses for a total of 240 ECTS and achieve a grade point average of 75 out of 100 are awarded a doctoral diploma in the field of Alevi Bektashi Culture.

Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates who will apply to the program, Graduate Education and Training Regulation issued by the Interuniversity Board and T.C. Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University must meet the general admission requirements determined in accordance with the Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulation. According to this regulation, in order to apply to the program, the candidates must have a master's degree from the relevant departments of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, the Faculty of Theology, the faculties of Islamic Sciences and centrally must get at least 70 from the type of Ales-Verbal score. In addition, applicants for doctoral programs must obtain a score of at least 55 from YDS or an equivalent score from an exam recognized by the Interuniversity Board. In the evaluation of student admissions to doctoral programs; 50% of ALES score, 20% of graduate grade point average, 10% of foreign language score and 20% of interview exam are taken. For those who will apply for a doctorate with a bachelor's degree of less than ten semesters, excluding preparatory classes, the undergraduate GPA is used in calculating the total score. The total score must not be less than 60, provided that they get at least 50 points out of 100 from the interview. Candidates are ranked from the highest score and placed in the relevant programs according to the announced quotas. In case of equality of points, candidates with higher ALES scores are preferred. Students from universities abroad can apply for the Alevi Bektashi Culture Doctorate Program (provided that they take the preparatory education and courses deemed suitable for them later), if the equivalence of the programs they study is approved by YÖK.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In accordance with Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Postgraduate Education and Examination Regulations, the doctorate program offers a total of twenty-one credits for doctoral students holding a master's degree in the relevant field, and a minimum of seven courses and seminars, provided that not less than 60 ECTS per academic year. consists of at least 240 ECTS credits, including a qualifying exam, thesis proposal and thesis work. For students admitted with a bachelor's degree, it consists of a total of at least 300 ECTS credits, including 14 courses of at least forty-two credits, a seminar, qualifying exam, thesis proposal and thesis work. The total number of credits required to obtain a doctorate degree and the required and elective courses (course code, content and credit) are given below.


Profile of The Programme

Our program consists of academicians who are experts in their field and the necessary studies are carried out together with the courses. The aim is to train the student as a graduate of a doctorate program who has the knowledge and skills to analyze, synthesize and evaluate, to produce an original work using scientific research methods, and to convey what he knows, as individuals who have all the authorities and responsibilities provided by the law. What is desired is for students to be successful in the vocational exams they will face later; To ensure that they can continue their work in both public and private sectors.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exams to the success grade is 40%, the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Students who get one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) from a course are considered successful in that course.


Graduation Requirements

In order for students to graduate from the Alevi Bektashi Culture doctoral program, they must have achieved a minimum of 240 ECTS of class credits, pass the doctoral qualification exam, prepare and defend their dissertation and have a minimum average of 75 for graduation.
