VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF KOZAKLI / SOCIAL SERVICES AND COUNSELING

History

The student recruitment application for the 'Social Services Program' within Kozaklı Vocational School was concluded positively at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting dated 28.04.2021. Our program, for which YÖK has given an intake quota of 30 students, started its education as formal education at the associate degree level in the 2021-2022 academic year. The language of education is Turkish.


Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete all courses in the program (equivalent to a total of 120 AKTS) and obtain a GPA of at least 2.00 are awarded an associate degree in Social Services.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted to the Social Work and Counseling Associate Degree Program through the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Those who have received a Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score gain the right to register if they are placed in this program within the quota in the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) preference processes.


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

For students who want to make a vertical or horizontal transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey and foreign countries to Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, the provisions of the 'Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer' apply.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to obtain an associate degree in the Department of Social Work and Counselling, students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (equivalent to a total of 120 AKTS) in the program and obtain a GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.


Profile of The Programme

Social workers/social workers, who are the basic personnel needed by social work practices in our country, are trained in faculties or equivalent higher education institutions that provide at least four years of education. Training of intermediate staff needed in the same field is carried out in Social Services Associate Degree Programs (Department of Social Work and Counselling). Basic qualities desired to be developed in Social Work education graduates; To have sufficient knowledge and skills to meet human needs, to ensure that the individual/individuals, families, groups, societies and communities are strengthened by connecting them with new resources and systems, to enable those who seek help to cope more effectively with the problems they encounter by using their professional roles and to use their internal resources effectively. to act as mediator, trainer and facilitator by making it easier for them to benefit from Social work provides services under the guidance of professional and moral ethical principles in all its work. In all vocational courses of our program, in addition to the student's general communication skills, they will increase their individual awareness and further enrich their professional knowledge and skills.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Exams, measurement and evaluation are carried out on the basis of 'Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulations'. Depending on the content of the course offered and provided that it is specified in the information form by the relevant instructor, different measurement tools such as midterm exam, final, quiz, presentation, homework, project, portfolio, application can be included in this process. The impact of these tools on success can vary between 30% and 70%. In order for a student to take the final exam, the prerequisite is to have met the attendance requirement of 70% in theoretical courses and 80% in practical courses. Success grade is determined based on mid-term work and final grade. If a student who has fulfilled the attendance requirement once fails that course, he/she is not required to attend again. An excuse exam is administered to students who have a valid excuse accepted by the relevant board of the college. For more detailed information, click on the courses on the course list page.


Graduation Requirements

In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (equivalent to 120 AKTS) and obtain a weighted GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.
