The Program in Teaching German as a Foreign Language offers an undergraduate program. The students who are enrolled in these program take a language proficiency exam and if their language level is below the required level, they follow the preparatory language program for the first year. |
German language preperation is mandatory in this program. The exemption policy is applied based on the German Preparation School regulations. |
Students are required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 |
The Department of German Language Teaching offers a comprehensive training program on German and train German teachers who are equipped with contemporary knowledge and teaching skills. In line with this perspective, the program aims to train German teachers who: • are conscious, responsible, and guided by modern principles of education, • are armed with the skills used in contemporary education, and • have acquired the ability to design lessons that are compatible with technological changes. |
PO-1 | The student defines the concepts of assessment and scientific research and applies it in the school environment and follows the development of students using different assessment and evaluation methods and techniques. |

Each student must register in the beginning of each semester and in order to participate in the final examination, students must have attended at least 70% of the courses and 80 % of the practices. Students are subjected at least one mid-term examination and the final examination for each course. The mid-term examination’s (assessment methods like assignments, quizzes, etc. can be calculated as mid-term grade) contribution to the final grade is 40% and final examination counts for 60% of the final grade. The students have to get grades such as (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) in order to be successful. (DC) and (DD) grades are conditional success grades. It means that if a student has these grades for some courses, he has to get at least 2.0 GPA so that he will be successful in the mentioned courses. |
