Information Of Programmes

History

Nevsehir University Faculty of Divinity, the Department of Religious and Culture Education Programme was founded in accordance with the Articles of 29.03.2012 and the Law No. 2012/3055, as amended by Law No.2547. The program started education semester in 2013-2014.


Qualification Awarded

The Bachelor's Degree in Religious and Culture Education Programme is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements

In Turkey it is necessary that students to pass the YGS (Transition to Higher Education Examination) and LYS (Undergraduate Placement Examination). The only way to enter a program in University is through these tests’ scores. The students make choices in order of preference to be admitted to the programs they want to attend and send their preference form to ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center). Then the students have to provide the necessary documents and register on the mentioned dates. For the foreign students, the criteria of ÖSYM and of the quota that the university determined are taken into consideration.

Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, recognition of the prior learning is at the beginning level. As a consequence, for all programs of Nevşehir University recognition of prior learning has not been started yet. However, exemption exams for English and Computer courses are held at the beginning of each academic semester. Students, who get the expected learning outcomes, have the chance of attending these exams. The students who pass the exams are exempted from that course.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to obtain a bachelor's degree in the Division of Religious and Culture Education Programme compulsory and elective courses, a total of 240 ECTS, and have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.

Religious culture and moral Education Department give of human, religious and moral values, customers, creative thinking, researching, studying, religious culture and Morality in contemporary education and training techniques to use in order to cultivate knowledge of teachers.

Alumni, State or private educational institutions can work with the title of Religion and moral Teacher. In addition, relevant parts of the universities academic staff can be employed as well.

Access to Further Studies

Completed Bachelor's degree candidates, and adequate levels of the current note ALES exam and to practise in English, French, Arabic language, provided that they have the information and science exam achieve postgraduate and doctorate programs in education.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Each student must register in the beginning of each semester and in order to participate in the final examination, students must have attended at least 70% of the courses and 80 % of the practices. The students are subjected at least one mid-term examination and the final examination for each course. The mid-term examination’s (assessment methods like assignments, quizzes, etc. can be calculated as mid-term grade) contribution to the final grade is 40% and final examination counts for 60% of the final grade. The students have to get grades such as (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) in order to be successful. (DC) and (DD) grades are conditional success grades. It means that if a student has these grades for some courses, he has to get at least 2.0 GPA so that he will be successful in the mentioned courses.

Graduation Requirements

To succesfully complete all courses available in program (total of 240 ECTS), obtaining at least 2.0 weighed GPA of 4.00

In the Department of Religious culture and moral Education Department, educational activities are conducted with 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor, 2 Assistant Professors and1 lecturers in the other departments of the faculty (September, 2013).
