Sports Science and Technology College / ANTRENÖRLüK EĞITIMI

History

Department of Coaching Education was founded by the formal decision dated 22.05.2017 under the School of Sports Sciences and Technology at our university.


Qualification Awarded

Students who have accomplished all the courses equal to 240 ECTS and have a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are awarded an undergraduate diploma in “Coaching”.


Level of Qualification

Bachelor's Degree


Specific Admission Requirements

Candidates should take the Special Ability Test in order to apply for Coaching Education Program. The points taken from the Special Ability Test, YGS Points, National Sportsman Status and Sports Background status are all evaluated together and the Program replacement is done according to the calculated total score.


Specific Arrangement For Recognition of Prior Learning

Exemption exams from such lessons as Computer Sciences and English are held at the beginning of every academic year. Students who consider themselves capable of meeting the learning outcomes of such lessons are welcome to take the exemption test. Those who have passed the exemption test are exempt from the relevant lesson.


Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses equal to 240 ECTS in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, and to have a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.


Profile of The Programme

The language of the instruction of program is Turkish and education period is 4 years. There are 30 ECTS courses every semester at program. The program has a total of 140 courses, of which 53 are compulsory courses and 87 are elective.The program consists of mandatory field courses, general culture courses, coaching educational courses and practical courses.


Key Learning Outcomes of the Programme

PO-1 Sport Sciences, Advanced Coaching, Conditioning and Performance Analysis fields, as well as taking into consideration the reflection in the application..
PO-2 Evaluates and interprets data using the advanced knowledge and skills gained in the field of Sports Sciences, Coaching, Fitness and Performance Analysis, identifies, analyzes, develops solutions based on research and evidence based on current technological developments.
PO-3 In the field of Sports Science, Coaching, Conductivity and Performance Analysis, responsibility is solved at the individual level and as a team to solve any problems or problems that may be seen in field related practice, take initiative when necessary.
PO-4 In the field of Sports Sciences, Coaching, Conductivity and Performance Analysis, it has the ability to share knowledge and learn together.
PO-5 In the field of Sports Science, Coaching, Conditioning and Performance Analysis, the student has the ability to evaluate and apply the data obtained during the learning process.
PO-6 In the field of Sports Science, Coaching, Conductivity and Performance Analysis, it has advanced theoretical and practical knowledge supported by textbooks with basic and up-to-date information related to health, application tools and multimedia teaching aids and other resources.
PO-7 Sports Science, Coaching, Conditioning and Spreading Performance Analysis fields, at least the European Computer Usage License Level required by the field of computer software and information and communication technologies are used.
PO-8 In the field of sports sciences, a foreign language uses at least the European Language Portfolio B1 General Level to track information in its field and communicate with colleagues.
PO-9 In the field of Sports Science, it takes responsibility as individual and team member to solve complex problems that are encountered and unpredicted in practice.
PO-10 In the field of sports sciences, it develops professional knowledge and skills of people who work together and evaluates their performances.
PO-11 Has the ability to teach and implement basic and advanced knowledge and skills in application areas.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Coaching Education Program Graduates; As a coach, a fitness or a match analyst in amateur or professional sports clubs in universities sports schools and technological colleges, as well as in Physical Education (Sports, Science and Technology) universities in all departments connected to General Directorate of Youth and Sports (Youth Sports Provincial Directorates, Education Department, Federations etc.) and autonomous federations, and Sports Colleges.


Access to Further Studies

Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can take graduate (master's and doctoral) programs, provided they have a valid grade in ALES examination and have sufficient knowledge of English language.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Each student must register classes at the beginning of the semester. Students to enter final exams are required to attend at least 70% of the classes and at least 80% of the applications. Students shall be subject at least 1 midterm and 1 final examination for each course. (Success measurement tools and scores obtained from them used by the instructor's may also be included.) Contribution to success grade of midterm exam is 40% and final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated on 100 points. Students must obtain at least 45 from semester final examination. Students who manage to obtain one of those letter grades, (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC), are considered to succeeded. (DC) and (DD) are of the conditional success grades. Students received this letter grades must have at least average of 2.0 in order to be counted successful. Addition measurement and evaluation method applied for each course is detailed in "Course Plan - ECTS Credits".


Graduation Requirements

Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses equal to 240 ECTS in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, and to have a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 during the 4 years.

Facilities

There are a total of 11 classrooms ,1 laboratory area and also 16 rooms reserved for school directory, school secretariat, administrative bureaux and teaching staff. All classrooms in school have computer and projection equipment. In addition, there are 1 congress and convention center, 1 library, 1 sports hall, 1 stadium, 1 indoor soccer field, 2 tennis courts and 2 open basketball fields in the university campus. Research and education activities in the field of Coaching Education are carried out with 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, 2 research assistants and 4 lecturers. In addition, teaching stuffs from relevant faculties and departments of our university teach at our department.
